It's no less powerful to have the Import command recognize the file that's selected and do the appropriate thing. Resolve has separate Import commands for: Bin, Media, Media from XML, Timeline, Fusion Composition, Subtitle, Pre-conformed EDL, and Batch-List from EDL.Premiere has an Import command that handles any kind of file.FCPX has an Import Media and an Import XML command.but if I make that feature request - which I may anyway - I suspect people will vote it down.

IMHO it'd be nice if there was one Import XML command from which one would be presented with the things available in the XML to import rather than having to know what's in the XML and choosing the right Import XML command to use. Figured the screen recording might elucidate things. Sadly, i haven't figured out a Resolve solution to getting the buggy ones to work. I know you're talking about XML, but maybe it's something similar.

I think it has to do with Composite clips in Premiere that dont translate correctly. I have noticed i have issues occasionally with AAFs from Premiere, while other Resolve ops in my group have no problems with the same file. I just imported all the footage from the projects at hand, and was able to find the shots I needed the hard but sure way. I know there are multiple settings to get right, and it wasn't worth messing with.

I tried an EDL export from Pr, and import into Resolve, and that didn't work either. I've imported several XMLs in Resolve in the past that I still have on a drive that won't import now.
